About Rachel Mojisola Lasebikan

Rachel Lasebikan and has over 15 years experience working in creative business innovation, marketing and development including PR, events, research, design, product development, fundraising and corporate relations. She has done this for fashion, technology, media, social enterprise, education and NFP organisations.
She holds an MA in Design Studies from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts, London and an Honours Degree in Fashion, specialising in Fashion Promotion from Southampton University.
Rachel has contributed to the start-up and growth of various projects and companies, including building brand, corporate relations and legacy development for the African Broadcast Network and African Public Broadcasting Foundation. She created the first African fair-trade clothing range Isola Indigo for the TOPSHOP flagship store Boutique and initiated an African trends series of reports as a Global Contributor to the Worth Global Style Network (WGSN), supplying key stories from the continent such as the Rebranding of Africa, highlighting Africa's Cheetah Generation and The growth of Africa's consumer magazine industry.
For the last few years Rachel has supplied PR, events, fundraising, community/knowledge transfer and fashion innovation research for the SMARTlab Research Institute, working with organisations such as The Science Museum, NESTA, Stratford Council and the Science Gallery, Ireland. She has coordinated the SMARTfashion research team at SMARTlab and is a registered Arts Award adviser to support young people to develop as artists and arts leaders.
Aside from corporate projects, Rachel is also working to help strengthen community organisations within education, technology, fashion, sustainability and media related projects. Organisations include the HEBA Women's Project and the Tower Hamlets NCT. She looks forward to developing products with exciting community interest companies such as rYico and African Millennium and through charity SafetyNET.
